Intro

This blog is dedicated to updates and info on the life of Jackson Nathanael Adam. Jackson was critically ill when born and had to go on ECMO (heart and lung bypass). He made a miraculous recovery, and this is his story! Our intention with this blog was to update friends and family on Jackson's progress and specific prayer requests we had during his extensive stay in the NICU. We will probably move to a family website at some point. :) Thank you for loving him!

...and on!!!

How great is our God! We just received word that the organism that was identified from Jackson’s cultures is a bacterium that is not and will not cause Jackson harm. His white blood cell count is down today indicating that the infection that he did have, whatever is was, is gone! They plan on stopping the two antibiotics that he is on tomorrow. What an answer to prayer! As you probably know, if you’ve been following this blog, Jackson came into Children’s Mercy with an infection that he has continued to battle until this time, so we are thrilled to receive this good news. Please continue to pray for God’s continued healing between now and tomorrow.

Also…
Jackson has a new room! Nothing flashy, but it is his own little hole in the wall.

Jackson also received a PICC line today which is an IV catheter measuring 17.5 cm in length that goes through a large central vein and stops just before entering the heart. His happens to be located on the left side of his head which doesn’t win him any beauty contests but is nice since he will be less prone to grab at it or move his head like he does his arms and legs. This line should last the duration of his stay and allows for administration of fluids directly to his heart that may otherwise be corrosive to his veins through, what you or I might consider, a conventional IV.

We cannot praise His name enough and thank you again for your continued prayers. It is amazing to see what God is doing! Please pray for continued stability and for his Brain MRI tomorrow. We’ll keep you posted on the details.

YEA!!! Thank you Jesus!
On earth, He wanted the children to be brought to Him. Through our prayers, we're bringing Jackson to Jesus for His blessing.
We're thrilled about the great news! Huzzah!!!

In the latest picture, does Jack have a big heart sticker on his chest?! And if so, is it for medical purposes or just for fun? ;o)

So excited to hear about all the progress he's making. We serve a merciful savior!

I'm so excited to hear all the awesome progress. He looks so good. His coloring is good and he does look like he is growing. Has he put on weight? How are his oxygen levels doing? I love all your pictures.

Talk to you later,
